Great time passer

i found this book very interesting actually. i didnt look at the whole thing because there was so much stuff (some abberviations i would have rather not known). i dont really know how i came across this book, but i am glad i found it beacause this was a very interesting read. its really great if your bored and dont have much to do so you feel like reading it off! :)

The best book on the subject

There are very few thinkers, if any, whose work has been discussed by others as much as Artistotle. His influence on western thought on almost any subject has been immense. Dryden's lament that humanity have made the Stagirite's "torch their universal light" gives a measure of his influence. So the claim that Scott Meikle's book is the best on the subject is very strong indeed. But I think it is wholly justified. For Meikle discusses only the great philosopher's economic thought. And he is a master of his subject. His knowledge of the texts is profound matched only by his mastery of the literature, ancient and modern, his comments relevant, his prose beautiful and his arguments convincing. Even though he is not an economist he displays a surpisingly deep understanding of economic theory and history of economic thought.
His book is a collection of essays with enough structure to be read as a complete book. He examines A.'s analysis in Nicomachean Ethics and Politics and discusses modern interpretations of his thought. He argues for the existence of an economic thought in Aristotle, against the arguments of authorities such as Schumpeter (with his almost patronising view) or Finley who wrote the (new) Palgrave entry on Aristotle. He also argues convincingly against a neoclassical interpretation of Aristotle, a view that has crept in even in authoritative translations of the Nicomachean Ethics text.

this was an intriging book that lead to my revival. Without this both of my views towards economic behaviors and theories would not be able to exist and penetrate throught the ills of an intangible society. Philip Briggs is a travel writer and tour guide who specializes in East and Southern Africa. He was born in Britain and raised in South Africa; he has written many travel guides and other books on the African continent. He also has written for many naturalist magazines.

Situated on the thin strip of land that separates the shallow Benya Lagoon from the Atlantic, Elmina is a fascinating and strikingly attractive small town, at least the equal of nearby Cape Coast in terms of historical sightseeing, though often overlooked by tourists in favor of its larger neighbor. The town started life as a fishing and salt-producing village roughly 700 years ago and, despite having served as first the Portuguese and later the Dutch headquarters in West Africa, an overgrown fishing village is basically what Elmina remains today, the rich harvest of the surrounding ocean supplemented by the production of salt from the brackish lagoon. Back in its economic heyday, however, Elmina lay at the heart of the West African gold trade.

Anyone going to Ghana should have this guide ... and read most of it prior to the trip ... very helpful, useful, & enlightening information ... accurate and up to date. I had a Rotary mission trip to Ghana ( all over the country ) and this guide was "spot on" with most every location we traveled to ... even very remote tribal villages in the far north. I am now speaking to many groups about my mission trip and this guide is an excellent resource. Highly recommended !

Has everything in it you need to know

This book has exactly what I was looking for with an honest look at what you face when you travel to Ghana. I won't be in the main city so that has good reviews of hotels, restaurants, sites to see, etc as well as good travel advice on health, safety, food, etc.

His doctoral dissertation in futures and Forex trading attracted the interest and sponsorship of the Chicago Board of Trade. The author of numerous investment how-to-books, courses, and seminars, Dr. Brown is an outspoken advocate of self-employment, self-investment, and self-enrichment through introspection, study, and self motivated action. Dr. Brown is a 31 year veteran of the equity, bonds, futures, Forex, and options markets. In addition to leading up the Trade Mentors trading club Dr. Brown is a tenured associate professor of finance at the University of Puerto Rico's Graduate School of Business where he teaches doctoral and MBA investments, corporate finance, asset pricing, financial theory, and derivative trading classes. Good base to build on.

Dr. Brown has done a great job of laying out the basics and what is needed in trading Forex in his book. After reading several other books on trading (which can be bland and boring) Dr. Brown has done an excellent job on making this an easy to read trading manual. I would recommend this to another trader.
