Excellent, methodical overview of our corrupt allopathic cancer care system. If you or someone you love has cancer and you need a quick education on conventional medical treatment and more humane, practical, cost effective alternatives, this is the book for you. Not only does it outline the more well-known alternatives, Null even offers up recipes to get you started on a healthy nutritional track, which is critical to recovery. Borrowed a copy from my local library, which is why I am not a verified purchase. However, buying it is a good idea if you are in the process of researching treatment options. He even lists the fees associated with the various alternative programs. Each one a fraction of the cost of toxic allopathic care.

Buy and read this book before making any serious life decisions about your health and well-being regarding cancer care in the US. I truly empowered me when consulting with doctors and others about my own potential cancer health risks -- especially with so many processed food and general environmental sources that are in our daily living path. After reading, you can never say you didn't know.

During the last five years or so, the intense development effort devoted to InGaAsP lasers has resulted in a technology mature enough that lightwave transmission systems using InGaAsP lasers are currently being deployed throughout the world. This book is intended to provide a comprehensive account of long-wave­ length semiconductor lasers. Particular attention is paid to InGaAsP lasers, although we also consider semiconductor lasers operating at longer wave­ lengths. The objective is to provide an up-to-date understanding of semicon­ ductor lasers while incorporating recent research results that are not yet available in the book form. Although InGaAsP lasers are often used as an example, the basic concepts discussed in this text apply to all semiconductor lasers, irrespective of their wavelengths.

Enjoyable and not too difficult

This is a really fun book meant for early advanced players. I think an intermediate player wouldn't have difficulty with them. Each of the four pieces has a different quality to it which makes it interesting. The only down side is that there are only 4 pieces. If there were more I would have given it 5 stars.

The gang's all here

Author John Hamilton manages to be informative and even-handed in discussing THE VULTURE, refreshing for someone like me who enjoys this crazy, mini homage to H.P. Lovecraft. Also to be found within is the fabulous THREE CASES OF MURDER which showed Rod Serling how it's done. Along the way, you will meet ISLAND OF TERROR, NIGHT OF THE EAGLE, and so many more that our lives would be poorer for not having seen, each one well researched and more cogent than the last. Hamilton doesn't miss too many bets here and I can't recommend it highly enough. No index if you want to find fault.

Good overview of British independents who competed with Hammer

First off, I got this book because I absolutely love this time period in cinema, having grown up in the sixties and seventies. At that time we had no cable and the only entertainment in town besides the movie theater, which I could not afford unless my parents took me, was two and then later three TV stations. Naturally all kinds of American TV appealed to me, but on weekends and late at night the stations had little programming, and so offered up all kinds of movies, which apparently they bought as a kind of package deal with some distributor. Besides a few "A"-list titles, they had all kinds of obscure foreign and British films. This is when I was first traumatized by such films as "Horrors of the black museum." This film is not covered here, but there are plenty of interesting titles such as Circus of Horrors, which remains one of my favorites.

The book has a kind of odd structure, but is basically an ongoing historical narrative, over the course of which the author covers something like 45 titles in some depth. This includes films such as Flesh and the Fiends, Peeping Tom, Dr. Blood's Coffin, and The Devil Doll. An appendix has some details on each of the titles, and the author goes to some lengths to explain the constant struggle between the censors and the film-makers. Sadly it does not include an index, which I always think rather perverse in any book of this sort, given the ease a computer program can generate one. Any fan of the period should enjoy this book, with its in-depth discussion of the making of these films, as long as they are aware the author purposely excluded any film studio with major backing, including Tigon, the British AIP, and British Lion.
