Annoying female lead

This is another book where the female lead is just plain nasty to the H, under the guise of being "spunky", or "feisty", or "independent", or whatever. The h in this story yells, stomps, sticks her tongue out, huffs, sighs, throws things, shuts doors in people's faces, and generally acts like an annoying child throughout the entire story. I've given 2 stars for my review because the writing, taken as a whole, is not bad. Not great, but not bad. There are worse books out there.

More details needed

This is my first book by this author. I saw this book mentioned on goodreads and thought it sounded interesting. It was, the book is good and the author knows how to write but some details are left out. Important details ! I have all these questions in my head after finishing this book so I am not sure if I will continue on to book 2.

The author writes this book from the heroine POV so we do not get insight from the hero POV. It would of been a better book if it was written by a third party POV. We would of known what Conner was thinking and feeling towards Donna.When did he first see her? At the bar? Why was he at the bar? What was his personal history? How did he rescue her at the end? How did he kill Parker? Why didn't he ask her what happended to her when she first woke up? Did Parker touch her? Rape her? What happenend during her time with the enemy? Did these two not communicate at all? Through the whole book they rarely asked any personal questions to each other. Was the history of vampires? Was Connor born or turned a vampire? She assumed that Conner would turn her but they never talked about it and what the procedure was. Wouldn't you ask that if your boyfriend wanted to turn you into a vampire?!!This was touched on after the deed was done.
Not to mention Ivie. Your best freind got kidnap with you and you don't ask her what they did to her? How she is? No details at all!
I need more details to enjoy it IMO. The series has potential if the author will add in the details needed and more communication between her h/h.

Romance with a twist!

If I'm honest, paranormal is not my thing. That said, having enjoyed C.C.'s prior books, of course I would read this story too. My limited experience with paranormal does not include vampires, but this was a great place to start.
Because Donna doesn't know anything about vampires, Conner spends a lot of time explaining the 'life'. This was a helpful introduction. Although, because I have a hard time with things that aren't real, some of it was lost on me. But I'm so glad I kept reading.
Conner and Donna' s story is a love story...it just has a twist. He's an alpha male with a sweet need to protect her. We all love that in a lead man. His mom's raised him well!
Who knew I would end up enjoying a vampire romance as much as I did. Even if you don't think vampires are for you, read on! It's impossible not to enjoy a beautifully written love story!
