He has some controversial suggestions But that s what makes it such an interesting, rejuvenating read; rather than spouting the same old ideas, the proposed changes are revolutionary and disruptive. Just like the greatest entrepreneurs (Talk Business, April 2013) The book is superb. Straight talking. Nothing complex about technology, social media or strategy, but some very simple home truths that are very difficult to argue against This book gave me a jolt. Entrepreneurship is the future

Entrepreneurship, Intrapreneurship, innovation and culture are hot ticket items for our clients. So I keep an eye out on the start up books that come out on a regular basis.
I am childish
As an author of start up books myself, I get very jaundice when I start reading others. It is professional jealousy and it is childish. Most of these books (if not all) are better then mine (which reinforces the jealousy).
I was prepared to be unimpressed by "The Entrepreneur Revolution" by Daniel Priestly.
Covers a lot of angles
It is superb. It touches on so many books that we cover for our clients. It covers Ken Robinson (our education system), it covers "Mavericks at work" and "Poke the box" (passion), it covers "Killing giants" (the future is small business), it covers Chris Anderson (long tail, makers), it covers the "Flash foresight" (the future), it covers Taleb (be anti-fragile), it covers Marketing 3.0 (culture as the new marketing) and It even throws in some Eckhart Tolle (live in the now). All written in a "How to be a fierce competitor" way.
Complete no-nonsense
Straight talking. Nothing complex about technology, social media, strategy but some very simple home truths which are very difficult to argue.
Our time is now
The starting point of the book is that the industrial revolution is over, the information technology revolution is about to be over and we are entering the entrepreneur revolution. We are moving from hands and heads to hearts. The future is customer intimacy, delivered by entrepreneurs who deliver amazing value, love what they are doing and get paid for it.

I am inspired!

The goal of this book is to rejuvenate our mindsets so that we can get out of the industrial age and make headway into the new age of free-thinking.
I was assigned this reading at University of Baltimore for my Entrepreneurship class. This book taught me that in order to be a successful entrepreneur, we have to reprogram our thinking and expectations for our lives. I like this book because it is an easy read of various ways I can start changing my lifestyle today. I also like that Daniel encourages the reader to find the hidden lessons within the stories and challenges. For example, Priestly mentions ten challenges to kick-start your innate entrepreneur.
One of the challenges is to tune out the news and media, and go read a book. From this he makes a good point that the media influences us to think and act a certain way. By tuning out, we stand a better chance of unlocking our potential. I have an idea of how to complete some of his challenges, but Priestly also brings home the point that ideas are worthless by themselves, because it is all about how we make the ideas a reality.
This book isn’t necessarily for those who want a cut-dry text with forms of business plans and legal templates to use for their business. It is for those who need some motivation and inspiration for looking at their world differently. The revolution will not be televised.

Valuable to ANY entrepreneur and business(wo)man in this fast paced ever changing world!

With business moving so fast and traditonal sales methods and products becoming increasingly outdated what themes are still at the core of any business?
Daniel Priestley's book(s) has created fantastic inspiration for me in keeping me grounded and focused on my journey as a struggling entrepreneur (read: I am "all ideas and very little implementation!"). He understands that we aren't doing it for the money, we are doing it for the creation, for the thrill of a challenge, because we love helping people, to be on the edge of seats in life and business everyday and to be ahead of the curve leading the world into a new place!
This book in particular had given me so much inspiration and FLOW around who am I and what I can offer to any business. I went to his one day seminar today and have gotten further pages of notes that I'm going to implement over the next couple of weeks.
It doesn't seem hard either! It's just easy! Like a key has been turned! But that's just the FLOW that has been created by this book for me.
I'd say a book like this comes along once per year for me. A book that just breaks you out of your zone and takes you up to the next level. The next level is not any more harder or easier but it is a lot more simpler for you to operate and be yourself on that level.
